Laboratory Services

Standing Orders include: Cholesterol Panel, Glucose, Hemoglobin A1c, Lipid Profile, PSA, Lead, Vitamin D, Quantiferon Gold TB, Varicella titer. Other lab test can be performed with an order from patients doctor. No order needed for STD testing and treatments.

The Perry County Health Department laboratory is available Monday through Thursday by appointment. To make an appointment or to obtain more information, please call 357-5371 Ext 110 or 120.

Hemoglobin A1-C

This test is used as a standard tool to determine blood sugar control. People with diabetes should have this test every 3 months to determine if their blood sugar have reached the target level of control.

Cholesterol Panel

High blood cholesterol signals a higher risk of heart attack and stroke. It is important to have your cholesterol levels checked regularly and discuss them with your doctor. This test checks total cholesterol, LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, HDL (“good”) cholesterol, as well as triglycerides (blood fats) . Blood glucose is included in this panel.
