Dr. Ben Kinsman was the reason that the Perry County has a Health Department today. In the assessing of needs for medical services for his patients, he saw the benefits of County Nursing Services. When Dr. Kinsman was requested to help form the Health Department that could provide these Nursing Services, he said, Yes. From this decision to be a Sponsor for Nursing Services through the County Health Department, he saw his efforts grow into Community Health, Personal Health, Environmental Health, and a fully Certified Health Department with a Licensed Home Health Agency to meet the needs of the residents of Perry County. The Board that served at this time consisted of Charles W. Roe, D.D.S.; C.E. Cawvey, M.D.; Craig Furry, M.D.; J. Gregg Fozard, M.D.; Bonnie Tolbert, R.N., B.S.N.; Gene Rodely, Linda Cowley, James Neal, and Diann Bennett.
