Emergency Preparedness

Whether the emergency is man-made or a work of mother-nature, it is very important that everyone is prepared. The Perry County Health Department works with local, state and federal officials on plans that will ensure a safe and timely response.

While the biggest threats to the citizens of Perry County are generally works of mother-nature, man-made threats are just as devastating. Every home should have a 72 hour kit that contains basic food and hygiene items. Cash is also a very important item to have on hand because in an emergency, banks/ATM’s may not be available.
